Alright we are back at it again, for today’s journal I am going to discuss about ‘The Truman Show’ movie (1998). from my perspective it is a very related movie for our media class, and also not so bad.

So the first questions is ‘Discuss one or few scene in the show that captivates you. Explain the role of media in that particular scene and what your opinion regarding the issue being portrayed in the movie’. Scene that captivate me the most is when The Truman was lost in the movies and trying to escape from the city. In this scene, the director need to cut off show, to find the Truman. On this scene we can see, a huge reaction from the audiences from various background. Everyone was surprised with it and they were all confused of what have happen. At that moment we can see that the audiences take The Truman Show series which being aired for 24/7 as granted. Everyone started complaining because they want the show back when it was turned off. As soon as the show being turn on again, we can see all the audience gone silence and focus on the show again. We can say that media is one of the source that people really care about without being realized it. Further in to the scene, the show showed how Truman was struggling to sail in a rough ocean. Obviously the ocean was fake in the first place, but the reaction from the audiences are different. They take it as real. This scene is the most dramatic scene in the movies that captivate me the most. When Truman survived the ocean, the crowd was happy and cheers for him. We can see how the media play with our emotion, through out dramatic scene in a movies or series.

The second question is ‘how is the movie effect you personally’. This movie has open my eyes and shows that the media will do anything to create a great respond from the audience. When Christoff tried to test Truman at the ocean, I we can see he tried to make the scene dramatic as ever by pulling the ocean to the dangerous zone.

For the third question is, ‘ discuss a scene that you found the most profound in the movie’. The scene when Christoff said this thing:

“we accept the reality of the world with which we’re presented. It’s as simple as that”

This dialog somehow really connected to our daily life which really catch  my attention the most. It is the reality today because we can see how many people who easily accept the reality in the media. For example the issue regarding war at the Palestine or Syria. Most of the people being feed with lies in the medias. If someone one to know the real truth, they must go the place their self
